Sweetwater F.D. Donates to Acuna, Mexico Fire Department
Fire Departments routinely wear out their gear from use and due to age of the equipment.
It is not uncommon for fire departments to donate gear to other departments such as medical relief units and tents.
So when Ismael Aldaba from Acuna Fire Department began asking for donations, The Sweetwater Fire Department was quite happy to donate out of service fire gear to them. “All in all we were able to donate 40 bunker gear jackets and 35 pairs of bunker pants. This is gear we are no longer able to use due to changing standards with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. The Sweetwater F.D. had to order new gear recently and we are glad to see someone will be able to get some good use out of the gear we had. Most all of it is still in very good shape and has many years of service left in it.” Fire Chief Grant Madden said.
