JOY (HILL) HARTMAN
Joy (Hill) Hartman, 89, of Sweetwater passed away Monday July 19, 2021 at Sterling Hills Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Friday, July 23, 2021 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Christian Hartman officiating. Interment will follow at Palava Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. A family and friend’s visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Joy was born June 30, 1932 at Tuscola, Texas to the late Raymond and Lurene (Turner) Hill. She married Paul Doyn Hartman May 14, 1950 in Sweetwater. Joy moved to Sweetwater in 1950 and was a homemaker. She had worked for Holiday Rambler Corp., had the Montgomery Ward Catalog Franchise Store in Sweetwater and owned and operated The Flower Box from 1979 until her retirement in 2007. She also served on the VFW Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Joy is survived by her children; Doyn Hartman of Sweetwater, Terry Hartman of Sweetwater, Annis Baxter and Shane of Champion, Texas, 7 grandchildren; Christian Hartman of Roscoe, Craig Smith of Austin, Amanda Finley and Craig of Midland, Timorie Wilke and Shawn of Sweetwater, Lance Baxter and Tasha of Sweetwater, Kelcee Drake and Dustin of Champion, Jace Baxter and Rani of Midland and 18 great-grandchildren. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Paul, July 7, 2016 and her daughter; Paula Hartman Smith February 19, 1997. Pallbearers will be Craig Smith, Craig Finley, Lance Baxter, Jace Baxter, Dustin Drake and Christian Hartman. Honorary pallbearers will be C.L.
