Commission­ers’ Court Reinstates Burn Ban; Approves Purchases

The Nolan Commission­er’s Court met in regular session on Monday at 9 a.m., in the County Courthouse Sweetwater.

The minutes from October 12 & 13 meetings were approved.

Due to the lack of precipitat­ion our area of late, the Commission­ers reinstated the Nolan County Burn Ban.

A presentati­on from AirEvac Lifeteam was given to the Court for considerat­ion purposes only. The presentati­on was given to illustrate options regarding standard emergent care and the hospital to hospital “Fly You Home” option. There would be 3, 5, 7 and 10 year plans to choose from for County employees.

The Court received three bids on the installati­on of a sprinkler system for the Nolan County Courthouse. Of the bids, Precision Turf management was the only company that provided the required informatio­n as well as specs. Thus, the bid was awarded to Precision Turf Management. The County was pleased with the installati­on done on the County jail. The bid also came with a not-toexceed approved guaranteed maximum total, which the others did not.

The Chamber of Commerce request to close the south side of the Nolan County Courthouse on December 6, 2021 from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. for the hosting of Christmas on the Square was approved.

Precinct 1 Commission­er Terry Willman made a motion and Precinct 2 Commission­er Seth Mahaffey seconded. .

The Nolan County Road Crossing Agreement for County Roads 221, 226, and 131 for Magellan Pipeline Company, L.P. was approved. Thius would be maintenanc­e for all roads, save 131 which would require pavement work.

The purchase of two printers was approved for the Justice of the Peace’s Office and will be taken out of the Technology Fund. Commission­er Tommy White of Precinct 3 motioned and Commission­er Willman seconded.

Addendum 3 with Local Government Solutions, L.P to add a third user to the Distrct Judge’s Office on a computer was approved.

The requested audit of forfeiture funds for the 32nd District Attorney’s Office according to Article 59.06 was approved.

The amendment to contract to successor to STW Open Gov, Inc to provide Financial Accounting Software has been tabled for the next meeting, as the contract needs to be reviewed.

The discussion and possible action of Bond Refinancin­g was held in a Closed Session.

There would be no action undertaken at this time.
