Wylie JV girls 3, Sweetwater girls 1

The teams were tied 1-1 in the first half before visiting Wylie took the lead late in the half, and the Bulldogs added a goal after that this past Friday evening.

Macy Newberry tied it at 1-1 as she chipped the ball over the Wylie goalie. “Overall, I saw tons of improvement from our girls,” coach Logan Sharp said.

Graham girls 6, Sweetwater girls 0

The Lady Blues held just a 1-0 advantage at halftime Monday against the Lady Mustangs, who couldn’t hold off a strong second half by Graham. Jaedyn Bartee and Michaela Mcintire as well as Ameri Withrow paired up to build an attack getting the ball to Newberry who just missed a first-half goal that hit the post instead of the net on her run to the Lady Blues goal.

Graham boys 4, Sweetwater boys 0

The Sweetwater boys soccer team came out strong on Monday with several breakaways by senior forward Jadon Reddic. The midfield was led by another senior, Ryan Alvarez, and sophomore Joseph Pena, who created a number of buildup plays. The game was 0-0 until Graham finally scored in the 36th minute of the first half to take a 1-0 lead.

Sweetwater continued to press and create chances, but would come up short in the second half. The back line was led by seniors Dylan Early and Jose Carlos and freshmen Skyler Hebert and Memphiz Solis.

“The score does not reflect how these young men played,” coach Sharp said. “The first half was probably the best we have looked so far. I am proud of each player for their effort and dedication to their team.”
