WILDA EDITH BALLENGER MCCAIN
Wilda Edith Ballenger McCain, 96, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 at Hoyt Place in Sweetwater, TX. Graveside services will be at 2 P.M. tomorrow, Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Justin Adames officiating. Interment will follow directed by McCoy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at McCoy Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Mrs. McCain was born September 10, 1926 to Thaddeus and Hallie (Beall) Ballenger in Fisher County, Texas. Her mother died when she was 9 years old leaving her and her father to care for one another. She attended Center School and when she reached high school age she then attended Roby High School where she graduated in 1944. On January 17, 1947 she married Alton (Skeet) McCain in Sweetwater, Texas. Together they farmed and ranched in Fisher and Jones Counties, until his death February 22, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter and son-inlaw Margaret and Larry Smith of Sweetwater, TX, two granddaughters, Lisa and husband Michael Adames of Sweetwater, TX and Andrea and husband Don Zant of Steen Mississippi, five great grandsons, Justin and wife Ashley Adames, Zack and wife Miesha Adames, Kendal Adames, Troy Zant, Solomon Zant, four great great grandchildren, Avery, Blake, Asher, and Harper Adames, one niece and one nephew. Pallbearers will be Zack Adames, Kendal Adames, Kenny Kidd, Teddy Kidd. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the special people of Hoyt Place and to Alpha Omega Hospice.
