BROADWAY BAPTIST CHURCH

Impossible? I Don’t Think So!

In a few weeks, Mission Impossible 27 is coming out (I don’t really think it’s that many, but I’ve lost count!). I am pretty excited about it. I’ve been a fan since the very first one back when I was a teenager (not quite that long ago, but not by much!). Aptly named, the main character always gets jobs that are seemingly impossible only to succeed proving that it was possible after all.

This week’s memory verse in Vacation Bible School got me thinking about Mission Impossible. The verse is Deuteronomy 31:6, and it states, “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” I love it! And, to hear the kids saying and memorizing this verse is amazing! My prayer is that they will internalize it and come to know how true it is.

The announcement from the angel Gabriel from Luke 1:37 comes to mind. He told her, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” So, if God is in it, anything is possible; even the IMPOSSIBLE! And, since He “will not fail us or forsake us,” we know we have His support and presence all the way through.

Maybe you seem to be in an impossible situation right now. I urge you to know the promise from this week’s VBS verse. Then, I urge you to trust that what God says is the truth. Finally, believe that God ALWAYS keeps His promises. We serve the LORD GOD who is the God of the POSSIBLE! That is a Mission Impossible that becomes possible worth really being excited about!

FAITH HARVEST FULL GOSPEL CHURCH

400 Alamo Street Sweetwater

Happy Spring from all of us at Faith Harvest Church. The seasons are changing and change can be a good thing, especially if you are changing for the good. Change you say, no way not me.

Most of us don’t like change but change can be good if it is positive steps forward.

Many are stuck in discouraging and dead cycles. I believe that Jesus still wants to rescue everyone out of them.

I can say from my own personal experience that Jesus makes everything new and he also refreshes our souls. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

So if you are stuck in discouraging cycle I would encourage you to cry out to Jesus for help. Ask him to show you new things to do for him. I believe you will feel a new well and a freshness as Jesus beings to make things new in your life. May the love, joy, and peace of God be in your life today and everyday as you learn to trust him more.
