Reception at First Methodist Church Fellowship Hall to Follow APPLAUSE Series’ Musica Latina Concert, May 4

They are Casa Morales, owner Sylvia Morales, at 2101 East Broadway; Chimitas, owner Jose Guadalupe Ortega, 611 West Broadway; La Cocina, owners Louis & Maria Gaxiola, 907 W. Alabama: Lupita’s,owner Maria Chavez, 115 East 1st Street; Roundup, owner Laura Gray, 311 Pecan. Subway will provide preconcert dinner for Los Matadores Mariachi Band. Jimmie Bender and John and Alisia Brown will provide street tacos from KInfolks and Kathy Hall has donated food from HEB. Individual cooks include Ortencia Arellano, Sally Pena, Gloria Longoria, Sandra Gallegos, Maria Ortiz, Maria Montealvo, Angela Longoria, Rita Hernandez, Aurora Ramirez. Other volunteers include Yvette Baldaras, Joseph, Alex, Joshua, Noah, and

Eliana Pena. Cuisine will include enchiladas (red, green, and white), rice, red posole, green posole, chips and salsa, beans, tortillas, street tacos, fideo, picadillo, empanadas, tres leche cake, biscohitos, guacamole, corn in a cup, more. Musica Latina is the final concert of the tenth Applause Series. It is underwritt­en by Koch Industries Foundation ( Georgia-Pacific). Event Sponsors are John an Alisia Brown and Aida Kevin, and Katie Pantoja. Tickets are on sale at the Chamber, online at Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium and Henderson Gallery and at the door. They are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Guest artists are Ballet Folklorico de Alvaro Munoz Academy and Los Matadores Mariachi Band from Texas Tech. The concert begins at 7:30 and will last until 8:30 or 9 p.m.
