GOLF: Round 2 leader Bernhard Langer closed with 7-under 65 for a five-stroke win in the Champions Tour’s Oasis Championship at Boca Raton. Langer totaled a tournamentrecord 19-under 197. Marco Dawson (69) was second. … Phil Mickelson was on the brink of a fifth victory in the PGA Tour’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am after turning a three-shot deficit into a three-shot lead when a wild day of weather kept him from finishing. He will return at 11 a.m. today to play the last two holes. The final round started an hour late because of rain and was delayed two more hours when sun gave way to a hail storm. Mickelson led by three over playing partner Paul Casey and Scott Stallings when play was called because of darkness. He and Casey are the only two left to finish the round.

TENNIS: Romania beat defending champion and host Czech Republic 3-2 to advance to the Fed Cup semifinals, and Australia beat the United States 3-2 in Asheville, N.C., to earn a spot. For the Americans, St. Petersburg’s Danielle Collins tied the match at 2 with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 win over Daria Gavrilova. But Collins, in her Fed Cup debut, and Nicole Melichar lost the deciding doubles match to Ashleigh Barty and Priscilla Hon 6-4, 7-5. Rounding out the final four are France and Belarus.
