GOLF: Round 2 leader Bern­hard Langer closed with 7-un­der 65 for a five-stroke win in the Cham­pi­ons Tour’s Oa­sis Cham­pi­onship at Boca Ra­ton. Langer to­taled a tour­na­men­trecord 19-un­der 197. Marco Daw­son (69) was sec­ond. … Phil Mick­el­son was on the brink of a fifth vic­tory in the PGA Tour’s Peb­ble Beach Pro-Am af­ter turn­ing a three-shot deficit into a three-shot lead when a wild day of weather kept him from fin­ish­ing. He will re­turn at 11 a.m. to­day to play the last two holes. The fi­nal round started an hour late be­cause of rain and was de­layed two more hours when sun gave way to a hail storm. Mick­el­son led by three over play­ing part­ner Paul Casey and Scott Stallings when play was called be­cause of dark­ness. He and Casey are the only two left to fin­ish the round.

NBA: Joel Em­biid had 37 points and 14 re­bounds, To­bias Har­ris had 22 points in his sec­ond game with Philadel­phia and the 76ers beat LeBron James and the vis­it­ing Lak­ers 143-120. The Six­ers have won two straight af­ter ac­quir­ing Har­ris and four oth­ers at Thurs­day’s trade dead­line. … Nikola Vuce­vic had 19 points and 12 re­bounds, lead­ing the Magic to a 124-108 win over the host Hawks for its third straight vic­tory, match­ing its best run of the sea­son.

SOC­CER: Chelsea suf­fered its worst loss in 28 years when host Manch­ester City routed it 6-0 in the English Premier League. City re­gained the top spot from Liver­pool in its ti­tle de­fense as 2017 cham­pion Chelsea ended the week­end by drop­ping out of the Cham­pi­ons League places into sixth.

TEN­NIS: Ro­ma­nia beat de­fend­ing cham­pion and host Czech Repub­lic 3-2 to ad­vance to the Fed Cup semi­fi­nals, and Aus­tralia beat the United States 3-2 in Asheville, N.C., to earn a spot. For the Amer­i­cans, St. Peters­burg’s Danielle Collins tied the match at 2 with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 win over Daria Gavrilova. But Collins, in her Fed Cup de­but, and Ni­cole Melichar lost the de­cid­ing dou­bles match to Ash­leigh Barty and Priscilla Hon 6-4, 7-5. Round­ing out the fi­nal four are France and Be­larus.
