3 medium ripe avocados, peeled and cubed
1 garlic clove, minced
¹₄ to ¹ ₂ tsp. salt
2 medium tomatoes, seeded
and chopped, optional
1 small onion, finely chopped ¹₄ cup mayonnaise, optional
1 to 2 Tbsp. lime juice
1 Tbsp. minced fresh cilantro Mash avocados with garlic and salt.
Stir in remaining ingredients.

To keep guac green, place it in an airtight container, smooth the surface with a spoon and pour a halfinch of water over the top. Seal and store; pour off the water just before serving.
