RU­DOLPH THE RED-NOSED CAKE

Fol­low th­ese easy tips to turn your frosted cake into an adorable rein­deer. It’s so much fun, you may find your­self hum­ming the clas­sic Christ­mas tune as you dec­o­rate!

TO CRE­ATE EARS, us­ing your fa­vorite cutout cookie dough, cut two 2-in. hearts and bake. While still warm, mold baked cook­ies onto the curve of a large metal spoon; let stand un­til cool. Spray with ed­i­ble gold mist; let dry. Dip edges in melted chocolate. Once set, place ears on top of cake.

TO CRE­ATE ANTLERS, us­ing your fa­vorite cutout cookie dough, cut two shapes with a gin­ger­bread boy cookie cut­ter. Stretch into antler shapes and bake. Pipe melted chocolate over cooled cook­ies for tex­ture. Once set, spray with ed­i­ble gold mist. Once dry, place antlers on top of cake.

TO CRE­ATE MANE, us­ing paste food col­or­ing, tint left­over but­ter­cream frost­ing into col­ors of your choice. Us­ing dec­o­ra­tor tips of your choice, pipe de­signs on top of cake be­tween the two antlers and the two ears. Add store-bought meringues.

TO CRE­ATE EYES, pipe melted chocolate onto parch­ment and re­frig­er­ate un­til set. Once set, at­tach to front of cake.

TO CRE­ATE NOSE, dip a vanilla wafer into melted red candy coat­ing disks; let dry. Once dry, place nose on front of cake.
