EMB Martial Arts introduces FightFit
EMB Martial Arts will be starting an inventive way to get into shape. The first phase FightFit workouts will launch April 12 and will be tailored to individual needs.
FightFit is a kickboxing-based, full-body workout. It is a new high-intensity Interval Training program that includes a 30-minute, quick-paced cardio workout circuit.
“It is designed for those who want to be in fighting shape, but don’t necessarily have the desire or time to join a full martial arts program,” said Bill Laninovich, owner of EMB Martial Arts.
This is how the program works:
There are nine rounds, or stations, to navigate. Each round is three minutes with a 30-second break between rounds. This breaks down to 30 minutes of total workout.
The clock runs continuously at the studio, so individuals can arrive at any time as round one, or station 1, opens every three and a half minutes.
“Besides the obvious improvements of cardio health and body shaping, one awesome side effect will be an increased ability to punch and kick. With more power and precision, it would prove beneficial if you ever find yourself in a position to have to defend yourself or someone you love,” Laninovich said.
No kickboxing experience is necessary, and an EMB Martial Arts trainer will be present to assist individuals with the basics.
“This program is designed for all fitness levels,” Laninovich said. “Work at your own intensity. You can increase your intensity as your physical fitness improves.”
Laninovich suggests that individuals workout barefoot or in tennis shoes. Boxing gloves will be available for purchase.
“You may also use your own, or you can use a loaner pair,” he said.
FightFit will be offered from 6 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.
EMB Martial Arts is Located at 20424 W. Valley Blvd., #C., next door to Domingo’s in Old Town Tehachapi.
FightFit costs $45 a month, regardless of how many times you go, up to five days a week. For more information, call 900-8004.
