TUSD recognizes 2 more Tehachapi Trailblazers

- BY STACEY LARSON-EVERSON Contributing writer Stacey Larson-Everson is superintendent of Tehachapi Unified School District.

The Tehachapi Unified School District wants to thank as well as recognize its teachers and staff for their dedication to providing Uncompromised Excellence in service to our students. Their dedication to students is at the heart of TUSD and the impact they make extends well beyond the walls of the classroom.

TUSD Trailblazers recognizes two staff members per month who represent the excellence and values that make Tehachapi Unified School District so special for our students. These Trailblazers are nominated by their colleagues for going above and beyond.

This month’s Trailblazers were chosen for their vision of excellence and focus on building the best future possible for TUSD students.

Join us in honoring the Tehachapi Trailblazers for March 2021: Mandy Fisher and Susan Dodge.

Fisher is an English teacher at Jacobsen Middle School and has been a teacher with TUSD for 25 years.

Fisher consistently challenges students in her class. She sets high standards for each and every student and truly believes in the students’ abilities to meet — and exceed — what is expected of them. In the words of a colleague, “she inspires them to be the best they can be.”

Colleagues praise Fisher for her strong desire to reach and make an impact on every student who enters her classroom. She has a genuine, authentic approach to connecting with students and truly cares about their success in and out of school. Another colleague said of Fisher: “Her heart and desire to reach every student is truly authentic,”

Fisher is also a part of the Jacobsen Middle School teacher and student Investigators Team, whose team motto is “Knowledge is

Power: Investigate it!”

TUSD thanks Fisher for all she does to create a better future for TUSD students.

Susan Dodge is a payroll specialist and has been with Tehachapi Unified School District for six years. Before joining the district office, Dodge spent five years in service at Golden Hills Elementary School. Several of her colleagues credit her success to her compassion, high moral character and her commitment to service to others.

Dodge has been praised for going beyond the ledger to have a positive impact. She encourages a positive and vibrant environment in the office though her high level of energy, upbeat attitude and passion to help others.

One colleague said, “to have someone care as much as Susan is an incredible asset to the district.” We couldn’t agree more.

TUSD thanks Susan Dodge for her dedication, work ethic and positive attitude. Her actions embody Uncompromised Excellence for Tehachapi Unified.
