Chiota sends Titans past Wolves in girls lacrosse

Girls lacrosse

Algonquin 6, Nashoba 4: Grace Chiota recorded a hat trick and Bella Roman chipped in two goals and two assists to help the visiting Titans (9-4, 5-2 Mid-Wach A) edge the Wolves (6-6, 2-4). Caroline Pinto scored all four of Nashoba’s goals in the first half.

Worcester 10, Auburn 5: Elisse Boucher netted a game-high four goals, and Emma McNally scored twice to lead the visiting Wildcats (5-7, 3-6 Mid-Mass). Isabella Malpass notched two goals for the Rockets (3-11, 2-7).

Grafton 16, Minnechaug 11: Caity Tyldesley (6 goals, 3 assists), Josie Hamilton (5 goals, 1 assist) and Peyton Morrison (1 goal, 4 assists) propelled the host Gators (10-4).

Littleton 11, Shepherd Hill 10: Karen O’Brien scored five goals and Emma Dressel chipped in three to propel the Tigers (8-2, 7-1 Mid-Wach C), which rallied from a two-goal halftime deficit. Carly Moody and Maya Phillion had hat tricks for the visiting Rams (6-8, 4-5).

Lunenburg 14, Marlboroug­h 3: Erin Peplowski, Emma Kibbe and Savannah Diallo all tallied hat tricks and Emma Pilon scored twice to boost the visiting Blue Knights (10-3, 7-1 Mid-Wach B). Ella Hobin netted two goals for the Panthers (3-8, 3-4).

North Middlesex 10, Groton-Dunstable 8: Bella Young collected five goals and two assists, Sarah Swartz gathered three goals and two assists, and Meredith Southard Pantano notched a goal and assist to lift the Patriots (6-9, 5-6 Mid-Wach B). Annabelle Shreve had a hat trick for the visiting Crusaders (8-5, 8-2).

Tahanto 16, Tyngsborou­gh 9: Alison Stevens (7 goals), Julia Rubinow (5 goals, 1 assist) and Gisele Uva (4 goals, 1 assist) propelled the host Stags (10-4, 8-3 Mid-Wach B) past the Tigers (5-9, 3-8). Katie Guilmette led Tyngsboro with four goals and an assist, and teammates Lily Guthrie (1 assist) and Lillian Gikas both scored twice.

Westboroug­h 16, Bromfield 8: Cayla Ehrlich amassed five goals and two assists and Kate Sams netted four goals to push the visiting Rangers (13-2, 10-1 Mid-Wach B) past the Trojans (1-10, 0-8). Cavanna Aldrich and Hanna Wicks both led Bromfield with two goals.

Baseball

Algonquin 8, Westboroug­h 1: Zach Meehl went 4 for 4 with three RBIs, while Nick Klein, Brennan Rice and Thomas Boudreau all had two hits and two runs to propel the host Titans (5-8, 3-5 Mid-Wach A). Dylan Fischer drove in Brendan Martel in the top of the sixth for the Rangers (5-11, 2-5).

Ayer-Shirley 10, Gardner 0: James Gauntlett (3 for 4, 2 RBIs) and Matt Marchand (2 for 3, 3 RBIs) lifted the host Panthers (12-2, 10-1 Mid-Wach D) over the Wildcats (1-12, 0-10).

Blackstone Valley 3, Bay Path 0: Jack Marino scattered five hits and struck out 11 over seven innings and also was 2 for 3 with a two-run homer in the fourth inning to lift the visiting Beavers (11-3, 5-2 Colonial) past the Minutemen (7-6, 5-2). Alex Vosburgh also had two hits for Valley Tech and Max Pilkington singled and drove in a run. Joe Ftirze had two hits for Bay Path.

Bromfield 3, West Boylston 1: Russ Kilkenny allowed a run on four hits and struck out 11, and Nate Pertoso added a single and a double as the host Trojans (9-4, 8-3 Mid-Wach D) clinched a postseason berth by beating the Lions (6-8, 4-6).

Clinton 9, Quabbin 4: Aiden Green and Brady Brier each had three hits and drove in a run, while Davis Lunn singled and doubled and Jake Notaro (2 singles) and Mike Vanasse each drove in three runs to propel the host Gaels (10-2, 7-1 Mic-Wach c) past the Panthers (4-8, 0-7). Adam Adams was 3 for 4 with a double and Elijah Flint singled, doubled and drove in a run to lead Quabbin.

Doherty 10, Uxbridge 7: Sam Conrad was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and Marcus Vargas was 3 for 4 with a double to send the visiting Highlander­s (6-7) over the Spartans (12-2). Yedan Diaz Rodriguez singled twice and drove in a run, while Conrad also struck out four and allowed one earned run on 11 hits over six innings for Doherty. Grady Walsh had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for Uxbridge and Talen Rosborough and Liam Kaferlein each had two hits.

Hopedale 7, Advanced Math and Science 4: Brayden Lewis went 2 for 2 with a 3-run double in the top of the fourth and two runs, Brady Walsh was 2 for 4 with an RBI and Nate Montville had a hit and a run to propel the Blue Raiders (11-4). Trevor Petty went 2 for 4 with two runs for the Eagles (7-4).

Keefe Tech 3, Blackstone-Millville 2: Jaxson Fertel dropped a squeeze bunt and drove in Jason Starowicz as the

Broncos (4-7) walked-off the visiting Chargers (3-11).

Littleton 12, Lunenburg 2: Jack Young (3 RBIs) and Jack West (2 RBIs) both tallied two hits to pace the visiting Tigers (6-5, 3-3 Mid-Wach C) past the Blue Knights (4-9, 2-6). Brett Richard led Lunenburg with a single and a double.

Maynard 12, Murdock 2: Will Molloy was 2 for 4 with 4 RBIs, William Bucholz went 2 for 2 and drove in a run and Max Mandler singled and drove in two to lift the host Tigers (7-5, 6-4 Mid-Wach D) past the Blue Devils (0-11, 0-10).

North Middlesex 4, Nashoba 3: Ryan Arsenault singled and doubled and Jackson Hendley drove in a run as the host Patriots (12-3, 10-0 Mid-Wach B) took advantage of three errors to score four times in the bottom of the fourth to hold off the Wolves (5-8, 4-5). Nashoba loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the seventh and scored three runs, but relief pitcher Ryan Arsenault got out of the jam by inducing a popup to third to seal the win. Justin Ethier drove in a run for Nashoba.

Oxford 5, Quaboag 2: Connor Fantasia struck out eight over 6-1/3 innings and also doubled and drove in two runs to lift the host Pirates past the Cougars. Oxford’s Jeff Guzman was 2 for 3 with a double. Quaboag’s Matt Tiberii was 2 for 4 with a double and Ryan Fernandez doubled and drove in a run.

Shepherd Hill 7, Groton-Dunstable 2: Angel Paulino had three hits and drove in a run and also struck out the side after coming in to pitch the seventh to help the visiting Rams (9-3, 7-3 MidWach B) close out a win over the Crusaders (6-6, 6-4). Logan Daniels singled, doubled and drove in three for Shepherd Hill and Caden Green and Collin Moody each had two hits. Andrew Raymond singled twice for Groton-Dunstable.

St. Bernard’s 11, North 5: Jonathan Quigley singled twice and drove in four runs and C.J. Pelissier struck out 14 to power the host Bernardian­s (3-9) past the Polar Bears (0-13). Benis Pascual (2 RBIs) and Emmanuel Capellan-Diaz (double) each had two hits for North.

St. Paul 9, Pope Francis 4: Jake LeFrancois was 4 for 5 with two RBIs and Beckett Bailey was 2 for 4 with a tworun homer and three RBIs to lift the visiting Knights (9-4). Pope Francis cut the lead to 3-2 in the third, but LeFrancois came in to work 4-1/3 innings of relief, giving up two runs on two hits while striking out six. Taylor Reidy and Jack McGrath each had two hits and drove in a run for St. Paul.

Xaverian 5, St. John’s 0: The Pioneers (12-4, 6-2) left seven runners on base as their seven-game winning streak ended and the Hawks (10-5, 7-1) took sole possession of first place in the Catholic Conference.

Boys lacrosse

Franklin 11, St. John’s 10: Charlie Carlstrom notched a hat trick and Aaron Ricketts made 19 saves for the host Pioneers (5-9).

Leominster 14, Lunenburg 13: Isaac Rosado and Dominic Carr both netted four goals and Ben Marchete registered a hat trick as the visiting Blue Devils (211) held off the Blue Knights (2-10). Shea Gonyor led all scorers with five goals for

Lunenburg and teammate Josh Agnese added three goals.

Nashoba 10, Algonquin 7: Ryan Sweeney had four goals and one assist and Dillon Kelleher had a hat trick to power the visiting Wolves (9-3, 7-0 MidWach a) past the Titans (8-5, 5-3). Dillon Schartner had three assists for Nashoba. Jack Gulachensk­i had three goals and one assist and Declan Mulkerin scored twice for Algonquin.

Oakmont 5, Westboroug­h 4: Nahuel Suarez tallied two goals and Jack Norris netted the winner in double overtime to lift the visiting Spartans (10-4, 5-1 MidWach B) over the Rangers (2-7, 0-4).

St. Bernard’s 18, Monty Tech 2: Chase Courtemanc­he collected six goals and two assists, Quinn Carlson had five goals and four assists, and Josh Hoecker notched four goals and one assist as the Bernardian­s (8-6) downed the host Bulldogs (7-6).

Wachusett 11, Shrewsbury 8: Anthony Del Negro had five goals, while Jake Norton scored twice to propel the host Mountainee­rs (10-3, 4-3 Mid-Wach A) past the Colonials (5-8, 3-5). Tyler Barranco and his brother Jacob Barranco each scored twice to lead Shrewsbury.

Girls golf

Notre Dame 28, Worcester 8: Addi Cutting shot an eight-over 44 at Green Hill to propel the visiting Rebels (8-2-2) past Worcester (1-11).

Quabbin 23.5, Worcester 12.5: Kylie Caesy’s 50 helped the visiting Panthers (4-4) defeat Worcester (1-11) at Green Hill.

Westboroug­h 30.5, Auburn 23.5: Shelby Drayer’s 10-over 46 at Westboro GC helped the host Rangers (9-3) edge the Rockets (5-6).

Boys rugby

Blue Hills 47, Algonquin 5: Nick Southey scored a try in a road loss for the Titans (3-2).

Boys track

Littleton 113, Bromfield 32: Senior Mubeshire Bradshaw earned the top score in the state in the pole vault at 14’3 as the Tigers (5-0, 4-0 Mid-Wach D) topped the Trojans (1-2, 1-2) on Senior Night.

Boys volleyball

Ayer-Shirley 3, Nashoba 1: Miles Pyatt had nine kills and Dodge DeGagne collected 4 kills, 5 aces and 2 blocks as the Panthers (5-10, 2-8 Mid-Wach) defeated the visiting Wolves (1-13, 1-11). Set scores were 25-18, 25-22, 17-25, 25-17.

BC High 3, St. John’s 0: Eric Barcelos had 6 kills, 4 blocks and 5 digs led the Pioneers (6-9, 4-3 Catholic Conference) as they fell in Boston. Set scores were 25-19, 25-18, 25-12.

North 3, Bay Path 2: Kaua Lemes Da Silva (12 kills), Jeandry Hernandez (12 kills) and Martin Eisha (26 assists) helped the visiting Polar Bears (6-8) erase a two-set deficit to defeat the Minutemen (2-14). Zachary Bogar recorded seven kills for Bay Path and teammate Jayme Kenney added an ace and two assists. Set scores were 26-28, 18-25, 2514, 26-24 and 15-9.
