Hooks beats Mustangs by 1

-

HOOKS, Texas—It was an interesting contest from start to finish. Neither team gave up, but Hooks wanted just a little bit more, beating Hughes Springs 38-37, Tuesday.

The matchup showed just how important free throws can be. Hughes Springs went just 28 from the charity stripe, while Hooks went 14-16. In a close game like this, one more made free throw could have made all the difference for the Lady Mustangs. Hooks went into halftime with a one-point lead and both teams scored 15 each in the second half.

Kaylee Price led the charge for the Lady Hornets with 10 points.

Hughes Springs' top Mustang was Shatraven Ransom. She had 10 points in the tough loss.
