Girls Ouachita 45, Trinity Christian 26
Turnovers continue to plague Trinity Christian. Without a true point guard in the starting lineup, the Lady Warriors committed 26 turnovers in a loss to Ouachita.
"It's definitely affected us," Glover said about the ball-handling struggles. "We've been trying to develop ball-handlers and were getting better at it."
The problem is learning the position on the fly, as Trinity has had to do as a team in its first year back as a varsity program after fielding just a JV team in 2011-12.
Trinity held the lead twice— both in the first half. The Lady Warriors held a five-point advantage on three straight Alli Cree field goals, including a 3-pointer at the four-minute mark. Ouachita responded by going on a 6-0 run to re-take the lead.
Marissa Jeans gave Trinity its last lead in the game at 15-14 when the senior hit an inside basket with 2:51 left in the second quarter.
Ouachita scored the final six points of the quarter to take a 20-15 advantage at halftime.
The visiting team started the third quarter off with a 7-0 run to widen its lead to 27-15 and Trinity never threatened afterwards.
Ouachita's Kaylee Holloway led with 19 points and Kaylee Powell added 12. Cree led Trinity with nine points.
