A benefit fundraiser for medical patient Kay Morehead is scheduled for today and Saturday at Cass County Park. The event includes concessions, an auction, horseshoe and washer tournament and more. Fuzzy’s Taco Shop will have a monthlong fundraiser effort to help end childhood hunger in America. Customers are invited to make a $1 donation and in return will receive a voucher for a free taco on their next visit. In addition, social media followers can create a short, Fuzzy’s -themed video and for each one uploaded to the Vine app or Twitter with the hashtag #fuzzys 4nokid hungry, 10 meals will be donated to the campaign.

A garage sale/bake sale benefiting Herschel and Sheila Richard will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 13 at Highland Park Baptist Church Family Center, 2315 Texas Blvd. Herschel is undergoing treatment for cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
