A benefit fundraiser for medical patient Kay Morehead is scheduled for today and Saturday at Cass County Park. The event includes concession­s, an auction, horseshoe and washer tournament and more. Fuzzy’s Taco Shop will have a monthlong fundraiser effort to help end childhood hunger in America. Customers are invited to make a $1 donation and in return will receive a voucher for a free taco on their next visit. In addition, social media followers can create a short, Fuzzy’s -themed video and for each one uploaded to the Vine app or Twitter with the hashtag #fuzzys 4nokid hungry, 10 meals will be donated to the campaign.

A garage sale/bake sale benefiting Herschel and Sheila Richard will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 13 at Highland Park Baptist Church Family Center, 2315 Texas Blvd. Herschel is undergoing treatment for cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
