Extension classes to spotlight Romans

Classes offered in Wake Village and New Boston

- By Rhonda Morrow

Registration for the next round of seminary extension classes sponsored by Bowie Baptist Association begins Monday at First Baptist Church, Wake Village.

The 10-week class is slated for 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and will cover the book of Romans.

“The study is one in which the writer tries to put Paul’s thoughts into language that can be more easily understood today,” said ministry training director Paul Burkhalter. “The basic objective is to gain an understanding of Paul’s exposition of salvation by faith.”

As with previous courses, students have two options when taking the classes.

The Seminary Extension plan is available for $225 and includes transferable college credits. The Bowie Baptist Association plan is $115 and is designed for those not interested in obtaining a degree. Each option covers books and local fees.

Scholarships and payment plans are available.

Besides the local class, a duplicate class is offered from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays at the New Boston Property Management Community Room on Rice Street, New Boston, Texas.

The course is open to ministers and church lay workers.

The church is at 820 Wake Ave., Wake Village, Texas.
