Junior Hill to speak at Harvest Day
Evangelist, pastor and author Junior Hill will be the guest speaker during the 9:15 a.m. Harvest Day services on Sunday at Trinity Baptist Church.
Activities begin with Sunday school and small group classes at 8 a.m. followed by morning worship at 9:15 a.m. Sunday school and small group classes are also offered at 10:30 a.m.
Hill, a native of Alabama, holds degrees from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and two divinity doctorates from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., and Covington Theological Seminary in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.
His ministry spans nearly six decades, during which time he has served as first vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention and conducted more than 1,800 revivals and foreign crusades.
His books include such titles as “Joy in the Morning,” “Why Do Christians Doubt?” and “The Ministry of Thorns.”
The upcoming meeting is a service church members invite friends who may be curious about what a personal relationship with Christ is all about, said the Rev. Bill Saxby, senior pastor.
“Maybe the seed of the Gospel has been planted,” he said “And this would be a wonderful day for it to come to fruition.”
Saxby said this upcoming service has been in the works for about two years.
“He is a very busy man and is approaching retirement. This may be the last opportunity we have to have him here in Texarkana,” he said, inviting area residents to make plans to attend.
A product table in support of Hill’s ministry will be available at the service.
The church is at 3115 Trinity Blvd.
