Daingerfield survives Farmersville, 41-35

-

PARIS, Texas—With the blowing rain hitting their faces, the Farmers lost four fumbles on their first five snaps, spotting Daingerfield to a huge lead.

Then they mounted a manic comeback, forcing the Tiger defense to rise up on two fourth-down plays late in the game to preserve the 41-35 win.

Daingerfield put all four miscues into the end zone, tossing the Farmers into a deep hole.

Farmerville's Darrin Pennington was both, running for 307 yards and five touchdowns to pull his team to within six points at the end of the third quarter.

Daingefield relied on sophomore Cordarius Anderson, who ran for 245 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries.

The Tigers, 9-3, will face Pottsboro, 11-1, who beat Redwater, 14-13, Thursday night at Paris' Wildcat Stadium.

Following Farmer fumbles, Anderson scored on runs of 11, 46 and 5 yards.

The third quarter was all Farmersville, as Pennington scored from 35 and 16 yards out to make it a 41-35 game with 29 seconds left in the third quarter.

With its back against the wall, Daingerfield mounted a 10-play drive that carried to the Farmersville 10, before a fumble on fourth down gave the Farmers the ball at the Tiger 25.

That's when the defense stepped up. On a fourth-andtwo at the Tiger 34, Spencer Alexander met Pennington at the 35 and wrestled him to earth without giving an inch.

The Farmers would get the ball back one more time, but on fourth-and-eight, Anderson lobbed a pass and fell short.
