Lady Hornets sting winless Warriors in 68-14 rout

HOOKS, Texas—A young Hooks team was too much for Trinity Christian to handle on Friday night. The Hornets routed the winless (0-8) Warriors, 68-14, at home.

Hooks (2-0) got 28 points from 6-8, sophomore Tanner Hamilton and 11 by freshman Montrell Estelle in the one-sided affair where the Hornets allowed a game-high five points against Trinity Christian in the first quarter.

Austin Cree led the Warriors with six points and Cody Rushing added four.

Hooks resume play Monday at Bloomburg.

GENOA, Ark.—Bradley used a 22-7 scoring run in the first quarter to coast to a landslide victory over Genoa Central.

Nelson Ikegulu dropped 33 points for the Bears. Markese Jackson and Dominick Ellis each added 12 points.

BLOOMBURG, Texas—Boe McLaurin pumped in 19 points and Jackson Baker added 13 to help McLeod to a win over Bloomburg at Wildcat Gym on Friday.

McLeod (4-0) didn’t need much energy to pull away. The Mustangs outscored Bloomburg 14-4 in the first quarter and expanded their lead to 24-11at halftime.

Bloomburg got eight points from Nathan MçGill and six each from Matt Hensley and Austin Baggett.

HOOKS, Texas—Elizabeth Gillette’s 15-point outing was enough to push Trinity Christian to a win over Hooks.

The Lady Warriors (3-7) trailed, 22-21, going into the fourth quarter, but outscored the Lady Hornets,12-7, to coast to the win.

GENOA, Ark.—Bradley was unblemishe­d until it stepped into Dragon Gym to face Genoa Central.

The Lady Dragons (5-0) led 20-13 going into the halftime and maintained the lead until the final buzzer.

Callie Beckham and Bailey Everett led GC with 16 and 15 points, respective­ly.

New Bostons drops pair MOUNT VERNON, Texas—New Boston lost to Brownsboro, 47-28, and Grand Saline, 58-52, in the Belt Buster Roundup tournament at Mount Vernon High School.

Jordan Manning scored 14 points to lead Brownsboro to the win, and Marqueshia Thompson led the Lady Lions with 11 points.

Against Grand Saline, Thompson pumped in 23 points, and Sydney Humble added 11 for New Boston (1-5). Marissa Denton scored 24 for Grand Saline, and Michelle Stanley had 10 points.

EMERSON, Ark.—Miko McElroy and McCainey Huff each dropped 15 points to lead Fouke to a victory.

Emerson trailed 11-2 going into the second quarter, but fought back to get back into the game. But Fouke held on and managed to grab the win.

QUEEN CITY, Texas— Jasmine Rowe and Crystal Jones each lit up the scoreboard for 15 points in Atlanta’s easy win over Queen City.

The Lady Rabbits (3-2) led 28-7 going into halftime and outscored the Lady Bulldogs 22-8 to finish out the game.

Atlanta will square off against John Tyler’s junior varsity today at 6 p.m.
