Rain continues to shift playoff times, locations

The rain keeps falling and this week’s northeast Texas baseball and softball schedule keeps changing.

The latest change comes about because the playing field at East Texas Baptist University is unplayable after a month’s worth of rain fell in one night. That sends the best-of-three series between Pleasant Grove and Brownsboro to Centenary College in Shreveport.

So here’s the schedule, but stay tuned.

BASEBALL

Pleasant Grove-Brownsboro Class 4A Area Playoff, at Shehee Stadium, Centenary College, Shreveport Game 1: Friday, 7 p.m. Game 2: Saturday, 2 p.m. to be followed by Game 3, if needed

New Boston—Farmersville Class 3A Area Playoff at Hub Hollis Field, Paris Junior College Game 1: Thursday, 7 p.m. Game 2: Friday, 7 p.m. Game 3: Saturday (if needed), 1 p.m.

Redwater-Leonard Class 3A Area Playoff, at Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill

Games 1&2: Doubleheader beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday

Game 3: Saturday (if needed), 8 p.m.

James Bowie —Martins Mill Class 2A Area Playoff, at LeTourneau University in Longview. Game 1: Thursday, 6 p.m. Game 2: Friday, 6 p.m. Game 3: Saturday (if needed), 3 p.m.

Maud-Hawkins Class 2A Area Playoff— single game at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mount Pleasant High School

Linden-Kildare-Edgewood Class 3A —one-game playoff with Edgewood Thursday at 7 p.m. in Kilgore’s Driller Park SOFTBALL

Pleasant Grove-Van Class 4A Region II quarterfinal—single game at 7 p.m. Thursday, at Texas A&M-Commerce.

Redwater—Hughes Springs Class 3A Region II quarterfinal

Game 1: Thursday, 7 p.m., Northeast Texas Community College Game 2: Friday, 7 p.m. same site Game 3: Saturday (if needed), noon
