William Edward “Eddy” Huddleston, 66, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 in a Tyler, Texas hospital. He passed peacefully from this life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Eddy was born in Texarkana, AR on July 11, 1948. He graduated from Texas High School in 1966. He later attended University of Arkansas- Little Rock pursuing a degree in architectu­re before returning to Texarkana to help run a family business, Buzzy’s Repair Service.

Since 1973, Eddy was operator and later owner of Buzzy’s Repair. With his faithful wife at his side, Eddy exhibited hard work, honesty and loyalty. Whether in business or otherwise, Eddy always taught his family the priorities of faith, family and friends, and work ethic. He and his family spent many hours chopping wood, building barns and fence, working with the cows and horses, camping, water skiing and attending sporting events.

Eddy was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and trustee. He was a loving, giving man who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served him faithfully and he displayed this in the way he gave of himself to others.

Eddy was preceded in death by his parents, Buzzy and Pat Huddleston and a brother, Danny Huddleston. He leaves behind a loving wife of 43 years, Mary Lou Huddleston; a son a father always dreams of, Will Huddleston and wife Linde; and the daughter of his dreams, Mandie Elrod and husband Nick, all of Texarkana. Also, the blessings of his life, Skylar Huddleston, Reese Elrod, Jace Elrod and Emori Huddleston, knew him as “PaPaw” or “Buddy.” In addition, he leaves behind a sister Nita Shipp and husband David, of Texarkana, TX; two aunts, Sue Gabbard of Cason, Texas and Johnnie Stinson of Texarkana ; a uncle, Bill Wilbanks of Alvin, TX; and two brother-in-law Danny Crumpton and Robert Crumpton and his wife Laverne; as well as a number of very special nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the sacrificia­l time given by two special friends that stood by the family’s side, Wayne and Elaine Herring of Pittsburg, TX.

Funeral Services will be 4:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2015 at Chapelwood Funeral Home with Bro. Chip Davidson and Bro. Steve Shipley officiatin­g. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, 2:00 to 4:00p.m.
