New GM strives for Robbins Toyota to be ‘second to none’

- By Emily Sanders

Robbins Toyota, the second oldest Toyota dealership in the state of Texas, continues to serve Texarkana and surrounding communities, as well as several other towns in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma, and though they are under new direction, the dealership still carries the same great name and wonderful traditions that make customer satisfaction their No. 1 goal.

The dealership has been family-owned by the Robbins family from its humble beginnings on Texas Avenue in Texarkana, Texas, almost 49 years ago, according to Danny Cole, general manager of Robbins Toyota, now located on Mall Drive in Nash.

Cole, who took over as general manager for the Mall Drive dealership in the middle of April, has more than 21 years of experience with Toyota alone and said he strives for each and every customer experience with Robbins Toyota to be “absolutely second to none.” Cole plans to implement this by taking customer service experiences to another level.

Though Cole is the new general manager for the dealership, he stated, “Nobody works for me. We work together.”

Cole said that even though Robbins Toyota is now under new direction, the management team is still operating under the same great name, and more importantly, the same, wonderful traditions that center around customer satisfaction as the dealership’s number one goal.

“Our management team has over 115 years of combined Toyota experience,” Cole said. “I guess you could say we are seasoned. We understand that we are here to serve people and, without happy customers, a business will falter.”

“Our mission is to help and serve our customers and community in all aspects of everyday business.”

Not only does the local dealership serve Texarkana and surrounding communities, but also towns such as Broken Bow, Okla.; Mount Pleasant, Dallas and Paris, Texas; Bossier City and Shreveport, La; Hot Springs, DeQueen, Hope, Magnolia, El Dorado and Little Rock, Ark.; and many other cities and towns in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.

“We believe Toyota is a brand above everyone else because of the reliability, dependability, quality and resale value that comes with Toyota,” Cole said. “We can celebrate with the customer in a joyous event in their life. It is one of the biggest decisions in life. We also realize that is just the start of the relationship. The service after the sale is much more valuable than any advertising that we can do.”

Cole would like to invite folks to come check out the new Robbins Toyota, and remind folks that, though the dealership is under new direction, Robbins still carries the same great name and traditions. “The customer service experience has always been a mainstay of the Robbins Toyota experience. We are working to take it to another level with management change, starting at the top of the store,” he said.

Cole said operating in a customer-friendly environment is the most important aspect of everyone’s job at Robbin’s Toyota and they tailor the sales process to customer needs and expectations. When it comes to hiring potential employees at the dealership, Cole said they look for hard-working, happy folks with good ethics and more importantly, people with good character, because he believes having happy people working at Robbins Toyota makes for happier customers.
