Leadership Texarkana to host recruitment social June 8

Those interested in becoming a member of the 2015-2016 Leadership Texarkana Class are invited to a recruitment social at Twisted Fork Grill & Bar from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on June 8.

Applications for the class are currently being accepted and must be e-mailed to leadershiptxk@cableone.net or mailed to Leadership Texarkana, P.O. Box 311 Texarkana, Tx, 75504. Class size is limited to 30 positions and deadline for application submission is June 23.

Tuition cost for the class is $750 per individual and $600 for employees of organizations and businesses with annual operating budgets of less than $250,000.

The Leadership Texarkana Class program provides nine months of training in leadership perspectives and features more than 100 community leaders directing issue-based educational sessions.

The program will begin in September with an overnight retreat, followed by eight sessions held the second Tuesday of each month from October through April, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“One of the most humbling and gratifying aspects of Leadership Texarkana is the ready willingness of leaders throughout our community and region to generously share their precious time and resources as speakers, facilitators, and hosts for the leadership sessions during the year,” Executive Director Ruth Ellen Whitt said.

As the flagship program of Leadership Texarkana, the annual Leadership Texarkana Class has graduated an average of 25 leaders annually for the past 35 years with more than 500 of those graduates represented in leadership positions throughout the region.
