Ashdown Edges Malvern

PRESCOTT, Ark.—Prescott continued to roll in 5-3A play and set up a showdown next week against Glen Rose with a 42-14 win over Horatio Friday at Eddie Jackson Field at Cummins Stadium.
The Curley Wolves (4-2, 3-0) were led by Trevor Pipkin with 300 yards passing, and Maleric Butler with 113 yards rushing.
The Curley Wolves jumped out to a 21-7 halftime lead on a 12-yard touchdown pass from Pipkin to Tyler Rucker and touchdown runs of 56-yards by Carlos Vanhook and a 30-yard run by Butler. The Curley wolves added 15 more in the 3rd quarter, and a touchdown run from Vanhook in the 4th quarter.
The Lions (3-3, 0-3) scored touchdowns in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. They were led by Zach Izzo with 90 yards rushing on 23 carries, and Kadarius Pearson with 7 receptions for 94 yards in a losing effort.
ASHDOWN 20, MALVERN 14
ASHDOWN, Ark.—Tre Green’s 13-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was the winning score as Ashdown beat Malvern 20-14.
Jaden Hill scored first for the Panthers with a one yard TD run. The Leopards answered right back with a 35-yard TD run by Amari Reed. Just before halftime Jaden Hill connoted with Brandon Northcross for a 11-yard passing TD.
In the third quarter the Leopards tied the game at 14 with a one yard run by Devin Shaw, but it wasn’t enough to secure the victory. The Panthers had 194 yards of rushing and 66 yards of passing. The Leopards had a total of 281 yards.
NASHVILLE 69, WALDRON 7
WALDRON, Ark.—The No. 2 Scrappers (6-0, 3-0) led by Leonard Snell with 137 yards passing, and Darius Hopkins with 146 yards rushing, defeated the Bulldogs handily.
The Scrappers took a 28-0 first quarter lead, and were never really threatened, rolling up 55 points by halftime. The Bulldogs had their lone score in the 4th quarter on a 31-yard run by Joe Baker.
LAFAYETTE COUNTY 67, FOREMAN 17
STAMPS, Ark.—Lafayette County is now on a five game winning streak after thumping Foreman 67-17.
Wide Reciever Cualan Williams scored on all three phases of the game for the Cougars. A 38-yard touchdown reception, two punt return touchdowns for a total of 146 yards, and a 73-yard interception return for touchdown.
Tre’darius Burks had three carries for 68 yards with two touchdowns and Lepatrick Miller had a 74-yard TD run.
Corey Lovelwell had a 40-yard TD run for the Gators and Cass Lindsey had a one yard TD run.
DIERKS 48, MINERAL SPRINGS 18
DIERKS, Ark.—Dierks picked up their second conference win of the season by beating Mineral Springs 48-14 at Ayers Field.
Dierks had a total of 388 yards of offense against Mineral Springs. Jake Green went 7-of18 for 112 yards, threw two touchdowns and two interceptions. Trendin McKinney led the Outlaws in rushing with 197 yards on 25 rushes. Dierks had three interceptions in the game and one fumble recovery.
Mineral Springs had 200 yards rushing in the game. Colton Strode had the a 92-yard rushing touchdown.
