Maud downs Linden-Kildare, 53-28

MAUD, Texas—Gage Jones rushed for a 222 yards for six touchdowns as Maud stunned Linden-Kildare, 53-28, on Friday on the Cardinals’ field.

Jones scored on runs of 16, 7, 61, 1, 8 and 1 yards. Teammate Markese Conkleton also scored on a 10- and 11-yard runs for the Cardinals.

Maud’s Jones finished with with his yardage on 19 carries, while Conkleton racked up 169 yards on 20 totes.

Linden-Kildare quarterbac­k Marty Johnson hit on 4 of 10 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Ja’Kevian Rose caught a 58-yard TD pass from Johnson, and Rose had a 4-yard grab for another score.

Johnson found the end zone from 30 yards out for one of the Tigers’ scores. Micah Harrison had an 18-yard TD run for L-K.

Maud totaled 515 yards total offense, while the Tigers had 354.

Maud improves to 2-3 while L-K dips to 3-2 at the midway point of the regular season.

NEW DIANA 60, DEKALB 28

DEKALB, Texas—The visiting Eagles (2-3) built a commanding 39-0 halftime cushion and upended the host Bears Friday night.

Kentavius Williams scored a pair of touchdowns for DeKalb (2-3) on runs of 1 and 6 yards. D.J. Gray also scored on a 17-yard scamper, and JaQuan Jackson hauled in a 9-yard scoring toss from Tristen Jamison for the other Bear TD.

DeKalb fumbled twice, losing both.

EMORY RAINS 54, REDWATER 14

EMORY, Texas—The hosts jumped out to a 47-7 halftime lead and were never pushed in this contest.

The Wildcats climb to 3-2 while the

Dragons fall to 3-2.

Zane Smith scored on a 12-yard run and Seth Lathrop on a 1-yard plunge for Redwater.

Dylon Mosely ran for 260 yards and four touchdowns for Rains and teammate Naim Diego added 94 yards and two more rushing TDs.

JAMES BOWIE 8, DETROIT 6

SIMMS, Texas—Pirate quarterbac­k Bailey Obenoskey scored on a 10-yard touchdown run and then passed to Caige Crowley for the game-winning 2-point conversion as James Bowie picked up its first victory this season after three losses.

The Eagles (1-4) pulled within 8-6 on a 5-yard scoring run, but the Pirate defense stopped the 2-point conversion attempt, sealing the victory.

MUSTANGS OUTLAST DRAGONS

REDWATER, Texas—Peyton Blythe served in 14 points to lead Hughes Springs over Redwater, 25-15, 17-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-12, in District 14-3A play.

Ramzi Smith had 15 service points for the Lady Dragons. Ally Shumate put down six kills, and Karley Morrow made 21 digs for Redwater.

BULLDOGS SWEEP

DAINGERFIE­LD, Texas—Jessica Jones hammered 10 kills, and Queen City swept Daingerfie­ld, 25-15, 25-9, 25-11.

Maci Stringer made 26 assists and Jayley Stringer added nine digs for the Lady Bulldogs.
