DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS: Bobby Cooks blocked a punt, and Ryan Pickleman made

the recovery. Tyler Allen recovered a fumble on a kickoff. Ben harmon led the team with nine tackles, Caleb Porchia had five stops, and Brian Graves, Cooks and Cole Lipham each had three.

COACH JOSH GIBSON’S COMMENTS: “We had a lot of momentum going: we were up 14-0, kicked an on-sides kick and recovered it. We got called for offsides (on the kickoff), and we watched it on video and it wasn’t even close. That’s just one of those calls that doesn’t go our way, but I thought that changed the game. If we recover it, we’re at the 39 going in and have a chance to be up 21.

“Then with three minutes to go (in the first half), we’re still up 21-20 and they go score, then we throw a ball and they pick it. They go score, so there was a big momentum swing with three minutes to go. They executed well and got some big plays in space with their athletes. Our kids fought hard in the second half, cut the score to three points. Our kids played hard, we’ve just got to continue making big plays in those games.”
