Nashville, Joe T. Robinson set to collide

NASHVILLE, Ark.—Nashville and Joe T. Robinson put perfect records on the line tonight at Scrapper Stadium.

The Scrappers (5-0), who are ranked No. 1 in Class 4A according to the AP poll, are averaging 67 points per game, which is highest in the nation. Nashville has given up 30.8 points per contest.

The Senators (5-0) are averaging 48.4 points per game and are giving up just 15.2. The main point of attack for Robinson is the passing game.

Both teams operate efficient offenses that are capable of racking up massive yards. The Scrappers average 594.4 yards per outing, while Robinson averages 472 yards.

Tyler Hanson, the Scrappers' junior quarterbac­k, has hit on 63 of 84 passes for 1,237 yards and 19 scores. Hanson has thrown just two intercepti­ons in five games.

Darius Hopkins, Nashville's senior running back, leads the area with 889 yards on 62 carries and 17 rushing touchdowns. Hopkins averages an outstandin­g 14.3 yards per tote.

Scrapper Trent Harris also sees a lot of time at running back and has gained 591 yards on just 48 carries and nine TDs. Harris gets an average of 12.3 yards per tote.

The top two receivers for Nashville are juniors Ty Pettway and Domonick Kight. Pettway has snagged 21 catches for 454 yards and eight touchdowns, while Kight has made 16 catches for 349 yards and six scores.

Hunter Eskola is the senior quarterbac­k for the Senators. Eskola has completed 54 of 75 passes for 1,526 yards and 22 touchdowns. He has thrown just two intercepti­ons in five games.

Robinson senior receiver Koilan Jackson has grabbed 24 passes for 597 yards and seven TDs. Jackson's teammate, junior Nathan Page has 19 catches for 726 yards and 10 scores.

A shootout is likely to happen when the two high-powered offenses clash.

Senior Nashville safety Hunter White leads the team in tackles with 58. Senior Garrett Gordon is second on the team with 45 stops.

Hunter Swoboda is the tackles leader for Robinson with 53, while teammate Myles Fells has 44.

Last week, the Sentors rolled Arkadelphi­a, 46-9, while the Scrappers put up 35 points in the first quarter en route to a 65-29 win over Fountain Lake.

Nashville plays at Ashdown next week.
