City’s newest Boomerang to offer free car washes

Boomerang Car Wash will give out free car washes from its new North State Line Avenue car wash starting Wednesday.

“We will wash cars for free from Wednesday through Friday, possibly Saturday,” said Ed Colvard, vice president of marketing, branding and development. “We want to show off the new facility and equipment and wash lots of cars. We expect to wash 3,000 to 4,000 cars just on that first Wednesday we open. Get in line, get some literature and get your car washed.”

According to Colvard, Texarkana’s first Boomerang, which opened in 2010 on Richmond Road across from Pizza Hut, has been busy.

“Space is kind of tight at our Richmond Road location, though we have outstanding volume at that location,” Colvard said. “The new facility will offer far more room for cars to maneuver.”

Colvard said technology is rapidly improving in the car-washing industry. The new car wash, at 4311 N. State Line Ave., will feature the latest equipment in the business. The tunnel will be 15 feet longer and 4 feet wider than the one at the Richmond Road Boomerang. The car wash also features biodegradable soaps and solutions in its cleaning process, and each facility treats the water it uses.

“Texans are sensitive about water use,” Colvard said. “So we want to be the best stewards of our resources we can be.”
