Nashville edges Arkansas High, 2-1

NASHVILLE, Ark.—Preston Pope scattered five hits, and Nashville edged Arkansas High, 2-1, Thursday at Wilson Park.

Pope had three strikeouts and two walks for the Scrappers, and Zach Jamison led a 5-hit attack with two singles. Hunter White belted a double for Nashville, which plays at Ashdown today.

Jadas Ross ripped a triple and single and scored the only run for the Razorbacks, and Drake Browning had a double, single and drove in Ross for the RBI. DEKALB, Texas—The Bears took care of their visitors from Oklahoma in varsity baseball at home.

Wyatt Lavergne bounced back to get the win for DeKalb, after a shaky sixth inning.

Colby Pennington went 2 for 4 with two singles.

TJ Grady went 2 for 4, adding an RBI for the Bears.

Dalton Hanna smacked the game winner in the seventh inning, with his only at-bat proving to be the difference maker.

ASHDOWN, Ark.—The Panthers belted Cossatot River in a varsity softball showdown, 12-3.

Lannah Huddleston pitched Ashdown to victory and also went 3 for 4 at the plate. Huddleston also collected three RBI during the contest.

Hannah McElroy went 2 for 4 and had four RBI.

Kenya Wilson went 3 for 4 with two singles and drove in a run for the Panthers.

Ashdown is 3-6 overall and hosts

HOPE, Ark.—The Lady Panthers won their first game in the Denver Mattress Invitation­al against the host school Hope.

Tabi Floyd pitched Fouke to victory. Raleigh Potter hit a 2-run homerun in the first inning.

Tatyanna Smith hit two home runs for Hope during the contest. Smith's first home run was a solo shot in the first inning and she also belted a 2-run blast in the third inning.

Laykin Smallwood went 2 for 2 for the Lady Panthers and Floyd went 1 for 1, driving in two runs.

Fouke is 2-7 overall.

NASHVILLE, Ark.—The Lady Scrapper 10-run ruled Horatio in varsity softball.

Madi Miller pitched a no-hitter for Nashville in four innings. Miller also went 3 for 4 at the plate and drove in two runs.

Kacey Hinds was perfect at the plate for the Lady Scrappers going 2 for 2 and driving in a run.

Jules Futrell went 3 for 4 for Nashville and also stole two bases.

Alyssa Harrison went 2 for 3 for the Lady Scrappers during the rout.

Beth Calicott struck out eight batters for Redwater.

Kenley Kyles led the Lady Hornet hitters, collecting three hits at the plate.

MAUD, Texas—Allie Houchens struck out 10, walked none and allowed four hits in a win over North Hopkins for Maud's final district tuneup.

Ashley Barnette smashed a double among her three hits and also had an RBI, Caitlyn Poe had a pair of hits and Mackenzie O'Brian doubled.
