Ashdown girls hammer Choudrant in classic

SHREVEPORT, La.—The Lady Panthers throttled the Lady Aggies, 19-9, in the Shreveport Classic.

Lannah Huddleston pitched Ashdown to victory from the circle.

Adaysia Thompson blasted two home-runs in the contest. Thompson’s first homer came in the third inning with two runners on and her second, was a solo shot in the fifth inning. Thompson finished her night going 4 for 5 and adding five RBI for the Lady Panthers.

VonJoy Thomas added a home-run for Ashdown in the third inning, with two runners on base. Thomas finished the game going 1 for 4 with three RBI for Ashdown.

Kenya Wilson went 4 for 5 and added two RBI for the Lady Panthers.

Hannah McElroy went 2 for 5 and contribute­d a RBI for Ashdown. Ashdown is 4-8 overall this season. The Lady Panthers are back in action on Monday, hosting Mena at 4:30 p.m.

HOOKS 6, HUGHES SPRINGS 3

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas—The Lady Hornets hold off the Lady Mustangs in a varsity district clash.

Marena Estell received the win in the circle for Hooks.

Sidney Pardue led the Hornets’ bats with three hits.

Rachel Latimer and Abby Russ had two hits each.

MAUD 18, LINDEN-KILDARE 8

LINDEN, Texas—The Lady Cardinals defeated the Lady Tigers on the road.

Allie Houchens received the win for Maud in the circle.

Makayla Martin hit a solo home-run in the first inning for L-K.

Mackenzie O’Brian went 4 for 4 at the plate and added two RBI for the Lady Cardinals.

Harley Dear went 4 for 5 for Maud in the batter’s box and also added two RBI.

Caitlyn Poe went 2 for 4 and contribute­d two RBI for the Lady Cardinals.

Maud is currently 4-1 overall and 2-0 in district play.

The Lady Cards are back in action on Tuesday, hosting McLeod at 5:30 p.m. Mason, Makayla Martin (5) and Kaitlyn Salazar. WP-Houchens. LP-Mason. HR-MaKayla Martin, L-K, 1st, none.

Baseball GENOA CENTRAL 6, WARREN 5

MAGNOLIA, Ark.—The Dragons edged out Warren in the final game of the Ball N The Break Invitation­al.

Cason Brigham received the win on the hill for Genoa Central.

Garrett Cook went 2 for 3 with a RBI for the Dragons. Cook also added two stolen bases.

Colby Cobb went 2 for 3 and added 2 RBI for Genoa Central.

Tyler Moreland went 2 for 4 for the Dragons. Moreland was also named to the All-Tournament team.

Genoa Central is 9-5 overall and 5-1 in conference.

The Dragons are back in action on Monday, hosting Prescott at 4:30 p.m.

LINDEN-KILDARE 7, RIVERCREST 0

LINDEN, Texas—The Tigers blanked the Rebels in a varsity district contest on the diamond at home.

Caleb Cunningham received the win on the hill for L-K.

Traccer Henry went 3 for 3 for the L-K at the plate.

John Randall Fitts went 2 for 3 and added two RBI for the Tigers.

JAMES BOWIE 10, MAUD 0

SIMMS, Texas—James Bowie’s pitching proved to be the difference maker against Maud at home.

Evan Barron threw a no-hitter for the Pirates. Barron also added eight strikeouts and went 3 for 4 at the plate.

Caige Crowley went 1 for 4 and added three RBI for James Bowie.

Bailey Obenoskey and Mason Plumk each contribute­d two RBI for the Pirates.

Daulton McBride went 3 for 4 for

James Bowie at the plate.

The Pirates are 9-3 overall and 4-0 in district competitio­n.

James Bowie is back in action on Tuesday, hosting Linden-Kildare at 6 p.m.
