L-E finishes 5th at power-lifting meet

Arras second in 123-pound division

ABILENE, Texas—Liberty-Eylau finished in fifth place at the State Power Lifting Meet and also set a record in the process.

Trey Arras won second place in the 123-pound division with a total weight of 1,125 pounds. Arras set a state record for bench press at 290 pounds. Arras also received the Outstanding Bench Press Award.

Darrell Houff finished in second place in the 220-pound division with a total weight of 1,560 pounds.

Baseball

TEXAS HIGH 12, MOUNT PLEASANT 2

Texas High 10-run ruled Mount Pleasant at home in a varsity district clash.

Walker Davis received the win on the hill for the Tigers.

Connor Allred was perfect at the plate, going 1 for 1 for Texas High.

Cole Christen went 2 for 3 for the Tigers and added two RBI.

Chris Lyles was 1 for 3 and contributed one RBI for THS.

The Tigers are 10-8 overall and 2-1 in district play.

THS is back in action on Tuesday, hosting Greenville at 7:30 p.m.

Softball TEXAS HIGH 12, MOUNT PLEASANT 0

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—Texas High’s softball squad blanked Mount Pleasant on the road.

Mabry Smith pitched the Lady Tigers to victory in the circle. Smith also hit a solo home-run in the fourth inning for THS.

Kaitlyn Cross and Kylee Spriggs, each went 3 for 4 for THS. Cross added two RBI and Spriggs contributed one.

Bailey Groom went 2 for 4 and added three RBI for the Lady Tigers.

Ashley Wyrick and Courtnee Cheek each contributed one RBI for Texas High.

The Lady Tigers are 18-3 overall and 5-0 in district play. Texas High hosts Greenville, Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Golf RICHARDSON PEARCE INVITATIONAL

RICHARDSON, Texas—Texas High placed eighth out of 22 teams at the Sherrill Park Golf Course. Zayne Madden shot 155, Matt Prieskorn shot 156, Ryan Hall shot 174, Will Patterson shot 176 and Tye Shelton shot 172.

The next event for the Tigers is the 16-5A District Championships April 3-4 at the Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club.
