SAU rolls past A&M-Texarkana

MAGNOLIA, Ark.—Former Prescott standout Trevor Rucker was 3 for 5, smacked two doubles and drove in three runs as fourth-ranked Southern Arkansas University rolled past Texas A&M University-Texarkana, 11-3, at Goodheart Field Monday in a collegiate baseball game.

Former Magnolia standout Blake Hall was 2 for 4 with an RBI double for the Muleriders (33-7), while teammate Jake Tisevich was 3 for 3.

Michael Davis was 2 for 2 with an RBI double for SAU, an NCAA Division II team.

George Gugino hammered a 2-run home run to give the Eagles an early 3-2 lead after five innings. Former Redwater standout Nick Anderson doubled, singled and scored on Gugino’s round tripper.

A&M-Texarkana, an NAIA program, hosts Texas Wesleyan today at 5 p.m. in its final home game at George Dobson Field.

ARKANSAS HIGH 10, CAMDEN FAIRVIEW 3

CAMDEN, Ark.—Dylan Adcock got the win, struck out five, walked five, scattered five hits, gave up two earned runs as Arkansas High defeated Camden Fairview.

Austin Nix was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI, Drake Browning went 2 for 5 and scored a run, and Jadas Ross scored three runs and had an RBI for the Razorbacks.

Jakob Johnson and Tristin Koller each went 2 for three with 2 RBI and an RBI, respective­ly, for Arkansas High.

NASHVILLE 9, ASHDOWN 3

NASHVILLE, Ark.—Tyler Hanson hurled a 6-hit complete game as Nashville knocked off Ashdown at Wilson Park.

Hanson had five strikeouts and no walks, retiring the last 14 Panthers he faced in order.

Hunter White belted a pair of doubles for the Scrappers (17-7) and finished with 3 RBI. Hanson had a double, single and RBI, and Austin Bowman contribute­d a pair of singles and 2 RBI.

Kaden Stuart smacked a 2-run home run for the Panthers (19-3) in the first and also had a single, and Logan Henry added a solo homer in the second.

Nashville, which took the lead for good in the bottom of the second, faces Arkadelphi­a at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Henderson State University and hosts J. T. Robinson Friday. FOUKE 3, GENOA CENTRAL 2

GENOA, Ark.—Fouke rallied to take the lead in the sixth inning and then held off a rally by the host Dragons to secure the 7-3A win.

Austin Lawrence had 13 strikeouts for the Panthers and gave up four hits in the complete game. Gabe Parker ripped an RBI triple for Fouke (13-8), and Cameron Rawlinson had a hit and RBI.

Trevor Wells scattered just three hits in absorbing the loss, fanning six. Mason Sellers had an RBI double for Genoa Central (12-11), Tyler Moreland added a double, and Mogan Martin had an RBI single.

Genoa Central hosts Centerpoin­t today, and Fouke is home against Cossatot River. NEW BOSTON 7, DAINGERFIE­LD 1

DAINGERFIE­LD, Texas—Jake Bobbitt pitched a 1-hitter, struck out eight and walked one as New Boston (14-6, 7-3) remained in the logjamp for second place in the District 14-3A standings.

Bobbitt also helped the Lions’ cause with three singles at the plate, and Hunter Burleson smashed a double and single.

Jordan Williams had the Tigers’ lone hit.
