The Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce has selected Beckie Moore as the new executive director. She will begin her position Monday, Aug. 7.

“We are very pleased to announce this selection,” Mitch Bobo, president of the HopeHempstead County Board of Directors, stated in a press release. “Beckie will a great asset to our region’s nonprofit and for-profit community. She has served nonprofits at all program, fundraising, executive and leadership levels, and has a range of chamber of commerce experience that will serve us well. We are excited that Beckie chose to return to Hope since she is a Hope native and lived and worked here as a teacher and as the director of the Clinton Birthplace Foundation.”

Moore’s resume includes more than 20 years of executive leadership in the nonprofit sector. She holds certifications in strategic planning, board and staff development, grant writing, fund development and advocacy training. Moore also directed the downtown business revitalization efforts in El Dorado, Ark., in early 2000.

“I look forward to returning to Hope and serving in this capacity,” Moore said. “I am thankful for the opportunity to work alongside those in Hope and Hempstead County who are ready to move the chamber’s mission forward and see significant development in the cultural, economic, and political environments. I am excited to work with the chamber board of directors as we provide the ‘setting’ to help our members prosper and succeed through a proactive working partnership with all levels of government and community organizations to achieve a healthy local economy and quality of life. I would be remiss if I did not thank Mark Keith and his team (staff and volunteers) for years of dedication and service to the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce.”

The Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization that serves as an advocate for businesses and represents business’ interests and issues affecting the community.
