James Leon Rushing, 76, of Hallsville, TX, passed away September 7, 2017, in Tyler. A Celebratio­n of Leon’s life will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview on Monday, September 11, at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Ron Charles officiatin­g. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Old Union Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

Leon was born February 7, 1941, in Titus County, Texas, to Eunice and Christell Rushing. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his four

brothers, Carol Dean “Boogie” Rushing, Edward DeWayne “Bub” Rushing, William Donald Rushing and Eunice Eugene “Grubby” Rushing.

Leon is survived by his loving family, Mark and Terri Rushing, Steve and Beth Rawls, Garry and Debbie Rolf, Dee and Angie Rushing, Tina Payne, Donnie Rushing, Brian and Misty Johnson, Tim and Mandy Johnson, Tracy and Christy Caviness and a large extended loving family.

He was owner and operator of Rushing Machine Shop from 1978 to the present where his legacy will continue. He loved collecting antique coins, antique cars and spending time with his family. He also loved his weekly time with his grandsons. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and loved his country. He had a heart of gold and loved helping people, especially children and dogs.

Leon was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
