COACH STEVE WELLS’ COMMENTS: “Defensively, we were missing four projected starters from the game, and what I’m proud of is that we had some young kids step in there and do a really good job against one of the better teams in the state. Even with the loss, we built some confidence; some of our young kids gained some confidence that’s going to help us as the year goes on.
“We got some stops against a really good football team, and we created some turnovers. We had two interceptions and probably should’ve had a third one. There were a lot of positives that came out of the game. We were so close to winning it, again, and those hurt a little bit, especially when you’re going against two of the better teams in the state.”
