Xavier Benson had seven tackles, Drake Fowler and Austin Toler had six stops apiece, and Jacob Barbour added four. Toler and Cameron Wells each had a fumble recovery, Toler returning his for a touchdown.

COACH JOSH GIBSON’S COMMENTS: “For us to get that win, for our defense to allow just one touchdown, and for our offense to score like they did is a great thing. I am proud of our kids, and we have already grown. I just want the kids to get better each week. I want us to be better in the second half than we were in the first half. We didn’t want to have

another game like the last where the team tried to come back on us.

“We have an off week, and we’re going to focus on grades. We are going to get some kids that are banged up, healed up, and enjoy our time together. We have two weeks to get ready for a difficult offense that Frisco runs. This is about as proud as I have been with our football program, and it’s very early on. The kids are bought into the program and work really hard. We have to get better in our kickoff coverage, so we will spend more time with special teams. And what is cool is when we say, ‘Hey, this is our weakness’, the kids will be up for the challenge.”
