Steve Wells—“We’ve seen a lot of good team, and I’m not taking anything away from North Lamar

at all. They’ve got some athletes and are in a lot of tight end-21 personnel. They can spread it out, they’ve got some good players in key positions, and they’re line gets after it real well. Defensively, they’ve got some real good guys up front, and their linebackers run to the ball.

“The main thing we have focused on this week is us and getting better at what we do. Hopefully, we can take care of business. We have to take them on game at a time. We can’t overlook anybody at this point, and we’ve got to work on getting better ourselves.” North Lamar’s Aaron Emeyabbi— “We’ve got to execute our offense; we need to keep our defense off the field as much as possible. Everyone we’ve faced has an explosive offense, and we need to keep the ball away from them, keeping them from getting a ton of snaps. Last year, with the quarterback Anna has, they had a chance of winning the district (if he had stayed healthy). He’s healthy, they’ve got a good football team and have a chance to win the district.

“We can’t allow L-E to stay on the field, offensively, because they’ve got explosive players too.”
