Hooks returns kickoff in nail-biter over Brahmas
OMAHA-NAPLES, Texas—In a battle to the very end, Hooks prevailed with a 14-13 win over Paul Pewitt on Friday night.
With the Brahmas up 13-7 with under a minute to play in the fourth quarter, Logan Murray returned a kickoff 61 yards for Hooks' game-winning touchdown. Murray also scored in the first quarter on a 15-yard pass from Mason Vasquez.
Dual-threat quarterback Lucas Hungerford scored both of Pewitt's touchdowns, including a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter with 1:02 left that put the team ahead, but the PAT attempt was blocked, which proved to be a crucial play.
Brahma running back La-jathen Allen had 218 yards on 31 attempts.
Linden-Kildare 34, James Bowie 16
SIMMS, Texas—LindenKildare scored touchdowns each quarter while only allowing James Bowie to score in the fourth in its win.
LaDavian Johnson scored the game's first touchdown in the first quarter with a 61-yard run. Later in the second, Ja'Kevian Rose returned a 93-yard interception for a TD, and added a 4-yard run for a score in the third quarter.
James Bowie would answer back after Rose's score, with a touchdown run from Dakota Grant.
L-K's Marty Johnson found Rose on a 13-yard pass in the fourth, followed by a 41-yard dash by Johnson minutes later.
Landon Crawford scored James Bowie's second and final touchdown on a 6-yard rush.

MAUD, Texas—Maud scored twice in the first quarter and never trailed as it edged districtC larks ville.
Gage Jones found Brooks Minter on an 8-yard pass in the first quarter for the Cardinals' first score and Minter followed that up with a 32-yard field goal for the their final score. Jones finished the game with 130 yards rushing on 22 tries.
Clarksville quarterback Quay Scales got the team's only score of the night when he rushed for a 16-yarder in the fourth quarter, and completed the contest with 133 yards on 8-of-15 passing.
Ranzae Daniels rushed 14 times for 100 yards for the Blue Tigers.
