LAST WEEK: The Tigers closed out the regular season with a 56-13 thumping of Pine Tree.
THIS WEEK: Texas High will travel to Frisco to face Highland Park at the Star Stadium inside the Ford Center. Kickoff for Saturday’s 5A, Division I bi-district game is 2 p.m.
OFFENSIVE STANDOUTS: Seven different players scored touchdowns, and PK Logan Snell was 8 of 8 on PATs for the Tigers. RB Trakeci Cooper rushed for 77 yards and two TDs, QB Riley Russell ran for 72 yards and threw for 189 and three scores. Kendall Reid, Chris Sutton, Collius Zachery, Kobe Stewart, Tevailance Hunt and Braylon Chatman also scored touchdowns. DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS: LB Tim Noble and Chris Arnold had eight tackles each. Jaylon Matlock and Deidrick Reeves had five stops apiece, and Dejonte Harper, Keidrick Reeves and Marquavious Fisher had four tackles each. Jaylen Stewart had an interception, and Braylon Chatman contributed a fumble recovery.
COACH GERRY STANFORD’S COMMENTS: “We did a really good job of playing a complete game Friday night. We got early, and that really set up our game. We did a great job on our kickoff coverage, pinning them deep and forcing a turnover once. We did a real good job of executing and creating space.
“We had seven guys score touchdowns. We played well and continued to improve on the things we wanted to do.”
