CANDIED SWEET POTATOES

Mary Alyce Loper, Atlanta, Texas Ingredients: 3 or 4 medium sweet potatoes 3/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup corn syrup 3/4 cup water 1/2 stick butter 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. butter flavoring 1/2 tsp. apple pie spice

Directions: Cut potatoes into small strips. Combine all ingredients. Put lid on pan and cook over medium fire for 20 minutes or until juicy.

Take lid off and cook on low heat until candied.
