Cities offer resources for businesses and shoppers
Both Texarkanas’ city governments are offering free resources to help businesses and shoppers take advantage of Small Business Saturday next week.
Business owners can get a complimentary packet of promotional items at either City Hall, and the Texas side is compiling a shoppers’ guide to the day’s local activities and promotions.
Taking place Nov. 25 this year, Small Business Saturday encourages spending at small, local businesses during the post-Thanksgiving shopping rush.
Available through Nov. 22, the free small business packets are sponsored by American Express and include items such as tote bags and stickers promoting the “Shop Small” theme. Texas-side City Hall is also distributing resource kits it created for the Governor’s Small Business Forum held here recently.
Business owners can also visit shopsmall.com/getready to create custom promotional materials for Small Business Saturday.
To be included in the Texas side’s shoppers’ guide, connect with the city through its Facebook page at facebook. com/texarkanatexas or through its Instagram account at instagram.com/citytxktx. Hard copies of the guide will be available at Texas-side City Hall, and it will be posted on the city’s website, ci.texarkana.tx.us.
