-

Two men were arrested on vehicle burglary and other charges early Wednesday after Texarkana, Texas, police officers discovered one of the

suspects carrying a stolen wallet.

Elexis Davis, 18, of Texarkana, Ark., and Christofer ColemanPearson, 19, of Texarkana, Texas, were seen walking in the roadway about 1:50 a.m. Wednesday in the 2400 block of Stevenson Street, said Shawn Vaughn, TTPD spokesman.

Officer Shawn Jacobs became suspicious as he spoke to the men because of inconsistencies in what they told him.

After the men agreed to allow Jacobs to search the clothing they were wearing, Jacobs found a large amount of loose change in both men’s pockets and a red women’s wallet with a Mickey Mouse design in the waistband of Davis’ pants. Davis told Jacobs that a girl had given it to him but said he could not remember her name, according to Vaughn.

The wallet contained identification and credit cards belonging to a woman who lives in the 100 block of South Circle. Officer Jarod Dean went to that address and found that someone had rummaged through the vehicle parked in the driveway. The owner told Dean that items were missing from her vehicle, including the red Mickey Mouse wallet, according to Vaughn.

Both men were arrested without incident and taken to the Bi-State Justice Building jail. Correctional officers subsequently located two small plastic bottles with several different types of pills concealed inside the groin area of Davis’ pants.

Davis was arrested on charges of burglary of a vehicle, possession of dangerous drugs and walking in the roadway. Coleman-Pearson was arrested on charges of burglary of a vehicle and walking in the roadway.
