Lady Backs drub Pro Vision of Houston, 47-21

SHREVEPORT, La.—Arkansas High's varsity girls squad throttled Pro Vision of Houston, 47-21, in the Battle of the Hardwood Tournament in Shreveport, La.

Senior guard Tierra Holliman led the Lady Backs offensivel­y with 12 points and Kiara Young added 11 points.

Ty Strickland contribute­d nine points for AHS and Brooklyn Brewer finished the night with five points.

Tamira Humphrey led Pro Vision with 10 points.

The Lady Backs are 2-0 on the season.

Genoa Central 43, Claiborne Academy 35

HAYNESVILL­E, La.—Clayborne Academy couldn't find an answer for Genoa Central's Victoria Hill as she scorched the nets for a game-high 21 points in the Lady Dragons' triumph.

Carly Wood added 14 points for the Genoa girls.

Claiborne Academy's Rachel Goodwin netted 12 points and Sara Parham contribute­d 10 points.

Genoa Central (3-3) will host Gurdon today.

Avinger Tournament

AVINGER, Texas—McLeod boys dominated in the first quarter, scoring 22 points while only allowing one, en route to a 57-35 win over tournament host Avinger.

The Longhorns (2-1) were lights out from the three-point line, nailing 10 shots from behind the arch.

Trevor Deel led McLeod with 13 points and teammate Zach Prince added 12 more, including two 3-pointers.

Avinger's Bryson Schubert finished with 11 points and hit three treys in the loss.

In the second game, the Longhorns lost to Grand Saline, 75-62.

McLeod led the team in scoring again, scorching the nets for 19 points, and Blake Williams drained four 3-pointers to add 12 more in the loss.

ORE CITY, Texas—Atlanta’s Keyona Easter blasted Ore City for a game-high 22 points as the Lady Rabbs sprinted to a 57-20 victory.

Brittany Collins added 14 points and teammate Sheveonia Smith finished with 12 for the Lady Rabbits.

Paul Pewitt 33, Big Sandy 28

BIG SANDY, Texas—Paul Pewitt’s varsity girls squad defeated Big Sandy on the road, 33-28.

Ebbony Cobbins led the Pewitt offensive attack with 17 points.

Subvarsity THS wins three of four

Texas Middle School’s eighthgrad­e ‘A’ team rolled past Marshall, 47-17, with Valeria Perez pouring in 13 points for the young Lady Tigers.

TMS’ eighth-graders fell to Marshall in the ‘B’ game, 14-8. Ladavialla Hill and Bobbie Hatchett each scored four points in the loss.

The Lady Tigers cruised past Marshall in the seventh-grade ‘A’ game, taking down Marshall, 39-14.

Emma Boemke and Delana Augstus both scored 11 points in the win.

In the seventh-grade ‘B’ game, TMS came out on top, beating Marshall, 17-9, behind Rosiya Long’s seven points.

Atlanta sweeps Red Lick teams

Copper McClure scored 17 points and the Atlanta eighthgrad­e boys defeated Red Lick ‘A’ team, 56-40.

Red Lick’s Andrew snow also led his team with 17 points.

Atlanta took down Red Lick’s eighth-grade ‘B’ team, 44-21.

Alex Shelton led the Rabbits with 10 points, and Carter Prewitt and Daniel Cannon scoring six a piece for Red Lick.

Atlanta took the seventh-grade game, defeating Red Lick ‘A’ team, 39-13. Kameron Dickerson netter 13 points for Atlanta, while Red Lick’s Ben Bricker finished with eight.

Nate Andrews scored eight points and the seventh-grade Rabbits finished the night off with a 21-8 win over Red Lick’s ‘B’ team.

Max Quillen scored three points for Red Lick.

North Heights, Hope split

Hope defeated North Heights in the 8th grade girls game, 31-25.

Jamyia Montgomery led the Lady Backs with 15 points and Lamy’a Solomon added six points.

NHJH defeated Hope in the 7th grade game, 27-5.

Sierra Watson led the Razorback offensive attack pouring in 10 points and Makayla Dodd contribute­d six points.

TMS tops Marshall

Texas Middle School throttled Marshall in the 8th grade ‘ A’ game, 48-17.

Jayden Godwin led the Tigers offensivel­y with 13 points. Braylen Stewart and Braxton White, each poured in seven points for TMS.

The Tigers won the 8th grade ‘B’ game against Marshall, 34-20.

Jake McGuire led TMS with 12 points and Nate Mennie added six points.

Marshall won the 7th grade ‘ A’ game against the Tigers, 34-26.

Caden Grisham led the TMS offense with nine points.

TMS fell to Marshall in the 7th grade ‘B’ game, 27-8.

Dae’laqwaun McGraw led the Tiger scorers with three points.

Hope, NHJH split

Hope defeated North Heights in the 8th grade contest, 53-41.

Mason Cornelius led the Hogs in scoring with 13 points and Chris Watson added eight points.

North Heights won the 7th grade game against Hope, 37-12.

Trevon Nash and Nate Campbell, each scored 11 points for the Razorbacks.
