Business to hold festival to collect donations for charities
HealthCARE Express is having a Be the Light Festival to collect donations for local charities and celebrate its 12th year of business. The event takes place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 23 at Texas A&MTexarkana in Eagle Hall.
The festival will have activities for the entire family including carnival games where participants can win raffle tickets for a chance to win cool prizes. Participants will have a chance to win a getaway in Broken Bow, Okla., tickets to see Blake Shelton in Shreveport, deep pore cleansing at HCE Dermatology and Age Management, a $50 gift card to Holiday Bowl, date night to Painting with a Twist and more.
To join in on the fun, HealthCARE Express just asked for a financial donation or a donation of needed materials to one of the charities is supports.
Supported charities and the items needed include:
Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter needs scarves, gloves, hand warmers, toothpaste and toothbrushes.
Runnin’ WJ Ranch needs paper towels and disinfecting wipes.
Literacy Council of of Bowie & Miller Counties needs donations of laptops and tablets.
The Texarkana Animal Care and Adoption Center could use blankets, comforters, dog food, towels and hand sanitizer.
nThe Healing Place needs washing detergent and toilet paper.
Friends for a cause, Texas A&M Alumni and Klondike Leadership Academy accept financial donations.
During the event, attendees will be encouraged to take a paper lantern and write down the legacy they want to leave for the future. The Legacy Lantern release will occur toward the end of the event.
