Area students compete in Paul Parr Relays

Liberty-Eylau’s girls and Atlanta’s boys ran away with the crown at the annual Paul Parr Relays Friday at Liberty-Eylau’s Harris Field.

The Rabbs took first place in the boys division with a total score of 180 points. Texas High came in second with 155.5 and Liberty-Eylau placed third with 115 points. Arkansas High placed fourth with 60.5 points and Pleasant Grove rounded out the participan­ts, scoring 25 points.

The Lady Leopards separated themselves from their opponents down the stretch, winning the meet with total of 148 points. Dallas Carter placed second with a score of 100, Gilmer came in third with a combined score of 91 points and Texas High placed fourth with a score of 75. Pleasant Grove rounded out the girls participan­ts with a score of 58 points.

Atlanta racked up 60 points by winning all three relays.

Reggie Blaylock, Austin Brown, Desmond Webster and Jawan King won the 4x100 meter relay for the Rabbs with a time of 42.16.

The Rabbs won the 4 x 200 meter relay with Jordan Brigham, King, Brown, and Webster, posting a time of 1:29.40.

Caleb Coleman, Cade Rosser, Luke Anthony and Brown won the 4x400 meter relay for the Rabbs with a time of 3:27.47.

King won the 100 meters for the Rabbs posting a time of 10:89, and Webster won the 200 meters for the Rabbs with a time of 22.41. Dagen Ward won the 800 meter run for Atlanta with a time of 2:07.27.

Anthony won the 400 meters for Atlanta in 51.77.

Devonta Vaughn won the long jump for Liberty-Eylau finishing with 21’-8 3/4, and Decorian Phillips

won the triple jump for the Leopards with a score of 43’ 1/2.

Kobe Webster won the high jump for Texas High with a height of 6’2, and Will Harrell placed first in the 3200 meter run for the Tigers with a time of 9:51.84. Owen Likins won the 1600 meters for THS, posting a time of 4:35.68.

Irijah Price won the 110 hurdles for Arkansas High with a time of 14.84. Price also won the 300 hurdles for the Hogs with a time of 41.12.

Kaytlyn Sweatman won three events for Pleasant Grove. Sweatman won the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:50.56, 800 meters with a time of 2:25.40 and 1600 meters in 5:24.00.

Monique Walker also won multiple events for the Lady Hawks. Walker won the high jump 5’2 and the triple jump with the score of 38’4.

Cassady Williams won the high jump for L-E with a score of 17’1, and Ta’Oni Reynolds won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.83.

Liberty-Eylau’s girls squad won both the 4x400 and 4x200 meter relays.

Sheveonia Smith won the 300 meter hurdles for the Lady Rabbs with a time of 47.11.
