Magnolia beats Horatio

NASHVILLE, Ark.— Magnolia topped Horatio 3-0 in the first round of the Ralph Gross Memorial Tournament in Nashville, AR.

Halen Sanders orchestrat­ed the Panther’s victory as the winning pitcher, giving up a single hit, earning 17 strikeouts, and connecting on two of the teams’ three hits as a batter. Dale Drake claimed the remaining hit for Magnolia which earned him two RBI.

Zach Izzo had the Lion’s only hit.

Horatio slips to 0-2 on the season and will play the loser of Mayflower and Farmington today at 10:00 am.

Nashville 10, Crossett 0

NASHVILLE, Ark.— Nashville shut out Crossett 10-0 in the first round of the Ralph Gross Memorial Tournament Friday night.

Tristen Jamison (1-0) was the winning pitcher for the Scrappers with eight Ks.

Jamison contribute­d two hits to the contest, a single and a solo home run in the first, and four RBI. Ty Gordon added 2 hits of his own, two singles and 2 RBI.

Landin Golden had Crossett’s only hit, a single.

Queen City 8, Bishop Gorman 4, Game 1 Queen City 10, Sulpher Bluff 1, Game 2

QUEEN CITY, Texas—The Bulldogs were able to make a late game surge for the win after Bishop Gorman scored four runs in the third inning.

Dylan Scott allowed two hits and struck out four for the Bulldogs.

Queen City had 11 hits in the contest.

The Bulldogs throttled Sulpher Bluff from the opening pitch.

QC scored five runs in the second inning.

Easton Fincher started on the bump for the Bulldogs. Fincher allowed two hits and no runs in three innings.

SOFTBALL Nashville 11, Murfreesbo­ro 0

MURFREESBO­RO, Ark.— The Lady Scrappers 10-run ruled Murfreesbo­ro in five innings on the road,

Madi Miller had eight strikeouts for Nashville and also two doubles at the plate.

Brookelyen Cox and Julianne Futrell, each went 3 for 3 at the dish for the Lady Scrappers.

Raleigh Potter added a homerun for Nashville.

Maci Goff and Klaire Castleberr­ry, each singled and doubled for the Scrappers.
