Hallsville beats THS in four sets

Texas High’s volleyball team lost in four sets to Hallsville on Tuesday, 17-25, 18-25, 25-19, 22-25.

Olivia Lower led the Lady Tigers with a game-high 22 points. Teammate Treyaunna Rush had 10 points, with 21 kills, and Kaitlyn Cross added 11 points, 10 kills and five blocks.

THS’ JV also lost, 21-25, 25-14, 22-25, with Ellison Davis scoring 15 points. Sakari Wyrick led the ninth-graders with 14 points, but the young Lady Tigers fell, 17-25, 18-25.

Texas High will play in the Garland Tournament today and Saturday.

PG wins three

LONGVIEW, Texas—Pleasant Grove’s girls won two of their three in pool play action Thursday in the Longview Tournament.

The Lady Hawks defeated Spring Hill and Longview JV in two sets, Henderson in three and lost to Lindale in two to finish second in the pool.

PG will be back in action again on Saturday against Hooks to begin bracket play.

New Boston loses opener

PARIS, Texas—New Boston fell to Prairiland in their opening match of the Paris Chisum volleyball tournament Thursday, 26-24, 25-21.

Emma Holland led the Lady Lions with nine service points.

New Boston swept North Lamar’s junior varsity in their second match of the day, 25-12, 25-9.

Grace Duffer led the Lions with 13 service points.

New Boston fell to Bells in their final match of the day, 25-15, 23-25, 18-16.

Carlee Ratcliff led the Lions with seven service points.
