Cheers & Jeers

-

CHEERS:

To the Texarkana Public Library, especially for LaQuida for picking DVDs, helping pick books and having them ready at the drive-through window. Also to Patti for helping inside for years and now helping at the window. They are just wonderful, much knowledge, hard workers and great attitudes. I tell them it is just like Christmas all year long. With much appreciation for these ladies and the Texarkana Public Library—what a “plus” for our area.—B.L.W., DeKalb, Texas

JEERS:

To the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department for inhumanely housing the confiscated roosters in the sun, under a tarpaper roof, and in a confined cage. Why don’t they just go ahead and kill them and cook them, they are cooking them alive anyway. Inhumane treatment is wrong, especially in the name of the law.—D.W.P., DeKalb, Texas
