Duck race fundraiser is Saturday

CHRISTUS St. Michael’s Friends of the Foundation Great Texarkana Duck Race takes place 10 a.m. Saturday at Holiday Springs Water Park, 5501 Crossroads Parkway, Texarkana, Ark.

Monkey Island and Splash Mountain will be open from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. for family fun activities.

Ducks can be adopted for a donation of $5 each. Five ducks can be adopted for $25, with the sixth duck for free. Adoptions are a va i l - able online at christusst-michael-foundation. org or by calling Duck Central at 903-614-7223 until 4:30 p.m. today. Duck adoption papers can be obtained at Duck Central, St. Michael Health System, 2600 St. Michael Drive, Texarkana, Texas.

The owner of the winning duck will receive a 2018 Kia Forte LX. The second-place prize is a $1,000 gift card from Dillard’s. The owner of the third-place duck will receive a $1,000 gift cert i f icate from Holiday Cleaners. A $500 Super 1 Foods

gift card will be awarded for fourth place. The fifth-place prize is a 65 Tundra Yeti Cooler from LedWell Machinery.

Admission is free with the adoption of one duck from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. One minor will be admitted when accompanie­d by an adult who adopted a duck. Only 3,000 will be admitted.

Proceeds will benefit 3-D mammograph­y services at the CHRISTUS St. Michael Imaging Center.
